Little River Shrimp and Jazz Fest

When you think shrimp and jazz, what comes to mind? Maybe it takes you down to the bayou of Louisiana, but here, it means it’s time for the sixth annual Little River Shrimp and Jazz Fest!! Set in Little River on the significant waterfront, this exciting festival is held annually on Columbus Day Weekend, October 9th and 10th. Live jazz music all day long is the usual attention-drawer for the event. Beginning at 10am will be the North Myrtle Beach Youth Orchestra to get everyone in the mood for the well-known Shrimp Cookoff. The Bates Holman Jazz Trio, which joins together jazz and modern pop references, with a swing of its own, will follow after that about 11am. U-N-I will be taking the show at 1:30pm to show off their blending of contemporary smooth jazz originals along with traditional jazz. The Dirty Dozen Brass band will wrap up the evening at 6:30pm. Since this is a two day event, just one day of shrimp and jazz is not nearly enough! Rolling over into day two would be all the entertainment, plus some, including arts and crafts vendors. Music for the second day of the event will include the sounds of the Kat Daniels Band and the prominent jazz vocalist and composer Grenoldo Frazier.
